Dr. Lakireddy Hanimireddy Government Degree College is a rural college located at Mylavaram, 45 KMs off Vijayawada in the South Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. The college has been striving hard to provide quality higher education to the students of this region, especially those hailing from underprivileged sections of the society. The college runs under the administrative control of the Commissioner of Collegiate Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh.
The e-Journal 'Young Intellectual' aims at encouraging and enhancing the research aptitude among the degree college students, soliciting expertise and support of degree college/university faculty in molding the young academic talents into active research potentials. The idea is to turn the enthusiastic students into young intellectuals.
Though name of this e-Journal i.e., 'Young Intellectual' sounds to be somewhat presumptuous, it was intended to instill confidence among the students pursuing UG programmes in degree colleges and lift their morale up by giving them the privilege of publishing their ideas, under the stewardship of expert faculty working in degree colleges/universities. 'Young Intellectual aspires to be a platform for students and teachers to join hands to create new ideas, explore new areas and pursue active research.
'Young Intellectual' is aware of the limits of degree college students and limited research facilities in the colleges. However, these limitations should not hinder the fertile inquisitive minds from exploring possibilities. True spirit of research must be given an opportunity to express itself overcoming all deterrents. That’s what ‘Young Intellectual’ truthfully endeavors to help the students with.
'Young Intellectual' attempts to bring together students and expert teachers through registration of students and faculty. On one hand we have a pool of experts in different disciplines and on the other, we have aspiring students. ‘Young Intellectual’ tries to map the experts with students as per their areas of interest. Students can take help of their college faculty or can choose an external expert from the ‘POOL OF EXPERTS’ provided by ‘Young Intellectual’.
